Kia America delivered 74,805 vehicles in April 2025, marking a 14% year-over-year increase and setting a new all-time record for April sales.

This milestone extends Kia’s streak of monthly sales records to seven consecutive months, with retail sales jumping 24% over the same period in 2024. The surge reflects growing consumer demand for Kia’s evolving lineup, particularly in the SUV, MPV, and electrified segments.

Among the standout performers were the Telluride (+21%), Sportage (+18%), K4 (+5%), and the Carnival MPV (+79%), the latter receiving a major boost from its recently launched hybrid variant. Electrified models also saw strong growth, climbing 21% compared to April last year, a sign of Kia’s steady momentum in the EV space.

Eric Watson, vice president of sales operations at Kia America, attributed the brand’s ongoing success to its innovation-led strategy and expanding model range.

He confirmed that production of the EV6 and EV9 is now underway at Kia’s Georgia facility, ensuring eligibility for federal EV tax credits. Kia is also enhancing its EV ecosystem by adopting both CCS and NACS charging standards, giving customers access to over 40,000 charging points nationwide.

At the 2025 New York International Auto Show, Kia showcased three key additions to its future lineup:

  • The 2026 K4 Hatchback, offering added cargo space and versatility.
  • The 2026 EV9 Nightfall Edition, featuring bold gloss black styling and exclusive wheels.
  • The all-new 2026 EV4, Kia’s first global EV sedan designed to broaden EV appeal through a combination of advanced tech, bold design, and everyday practicality.

Adding to its accolades, the Kia EV3 was crowned 2025 World Car of the Year, following the EV9’s win in 2024—making it two straight years of top honors for the brand.

Additionally, Kia was named “Sustainability Disruptor of the Year” at the 2025 Newsweek Auto Disruptor Awards for its ongoing collaboration with The Ocean Cleanup, underscoring the brand’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
