Kia America Achieves Record-Breaking Annual Sales for Second Year in a Row

Kia America celebrates its highest annual sales ever with 796,488 units sold in 2024, driven by record-breaking EV and SUV performance and multiple industry accolades.

Kia America closed 2024 with a record-breaking 73,303 units sold in December and a total of 796,488 units for the year—the highest annual sales in the company’s history. This milestone marks the second consecutive year of record sales, driven by a steady rise in retail demand and strong performance across multiple models.

Six Kia models achieved all-time annual sales records in 2024, including the EV9 (+1,869%), Sportage (+15%), Carnival (+14%), Forte/K4 (+13%), EV6 (+6%), and Telluride (+4%).

December also marked the highest-ever monthly sales for the Telluride, reinforcing its popularity since its 2019 debut. Kia’s electric vehicles saw a 74% increase in sales, accounting for 7% of total annual volume, while SUVs made up 76% of sales, reflecting an 8% growth from 2023.

President and CEO Sean Yoon credited the success to Kia’s strategic focus on innovation, particularly its leadership in the EV market with the flagship EV9 and new hybrid models like the Carnival.

The brand also announced key achievements, including the launch of the 2025 Kia K4 compact sedan and multiple industry accolades. Highlights include Car and Driver naming the 2025 Telluride one of its 10Best Trucks and SUVs for the sixth consecutive year, and J.D. Power awarding the Telluride the top spot in its segment for residual value for the fourth year running.

Kia’s EV9 and Sorento were also recognized by the Hispanic Motor Press for their appeal to Hispanic buyers, with the EV9 winning “Best EV of the Year” and the Sorento named “Best SUV of the Year.” These accomplishments underscore Kia’s momentum and its position as a leader in the U.S. automotive market.
