Investigation Launched After VW Tiguan Crashes into £200,000 Aston Martin

Police have initiated an investigation following an unusual accident where a Volkswagen Tiguan lost control and ended up on top of a £200,000 Aston Martin DBS outside a high-end car dealership.

The incident occurred at Aston Martin Manchester in Wilmslow, and images shared on social media show the grey SUV precariously perched on the bonnet of the 73 plate DBS.

According to reports, the driver of the Tiguan lost control while passing the dealership and dangerously reversed into the luxury vehicle. The Knutsford Guardian reported that the incident took place at 4:37 pm on May 7, leaving debris scattered across the forecourt.

A specialist recovery team was called to remove the Volkswagen from the damaged Aston Martin. One onlooker described the scene to the Sun: “The driver of the VW somehow lost control, mounted the pavement and a small wall, and the car’s back end landed right on the bumper of the Aston Martin. It was a classic case of ‘you can’t park there mate’.”

The onlooker added that the accident caused significant damage, with shards of glass and metal scattered on the ground. Despite the chaos, the driver of the Tiguan was not injured but is likely facing a substantial insurance bill.

The dealership staff quickly responded to the incident, with curious bystanders taking photos and videos of the scene.

Following a thorough cleanup operation, the Stratstone dealership, known for its high-profile clientele, including several Premier League footballers, resumed normal operations.

The damage to the Aston Martin, which was listed for sale at £209,900, is expected to run into the tens of thousands of pounds.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed, “Both vehicles have been recovered and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
