When the Ford Maverick debuted in 2021, it quickly became the truck Americans didn’t know they needed. Now, Ford is making its smallest truck even smarter, enhancing the features that made the Maverick such a hit. It remains the most affordable midsize pickup in the U.S., maintaining its low starting price.
The 2025 Maverick introduces an all-wheel drive option for Hybrid models, addressing challenging terrains and bad weather more efficiently. This new feature, along with an optional package that doubles the towing capacity, significantly enhances the Maverick’s utility. The truck also features new tech upgrades, such as wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ on a larger, 13.2-inch touchscreen, and advanced towing technologies set to arrive in early 2025.

These updates respond to feedback from Maverick’s loyal owners, who have consistently praised its versatility, Built Ford Tough capability, and value. This loyalty extends beyond traditional truck buyers, with 60% of Maverick customers trading in vehicles from other brands, including small cars and SUVs.
Maverick’s appeal lies in its practical features like the FLEXBED® Storage System and the Ford Integrated Tether System, which allows for 3D-printed custom parts. Customers appreciate the versatility and efficiency of the Maverick Hybrid, which boasts a targeted EPA-estimated 42 miles per gallon in the city with the standard hybrid front-wheel drive, and 40 miles per gallon with the new hybrid all-wheel drive model.
The 2025 Ford Maverick lineup includes various trims, each catering to different needs. The base XL model offers essential features at an affordable price, while the XLT trim adds convenience and purpose. The Lariat trim focuses on ultimate comfort and convenience. The Tremor, now a standalone trim, provides exceptional off-road capability, featuring a standard 360-degree camera and new 1-Pedal drive.
The standout update for 2025 is the hybrid all-wheel drive model, available on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims. This model enhances traction on diverse terrains and weather conditions, and with the available 4K Tow Package, it can tow small campers, personal watercraft, and utility trailers.
The Maverick’s FLEXBED helps organize payloads efficiently, accommodating up to 1,500 pounds. The bed can fit 18 full sheets of half-inch 4-by-8-foot plywood and features a multi-position tailgate for hauling long items or securing smaller cargo like a mountain bike. The bed also includes a 110V/400W outlet, with an additional outlet in the cab, and pre-wired 12V connections for DIY enhancements.
New technology in the 2025 Maverick aims to reduce driver stress and save time. The SYNC 4 system, displayed on the largest standard touchscreen in its class, provides wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, enhanced voice recognition, and connected navigation. A new built-in 5G modem allows for the latest wireless tech and over-the-air software updates.
The Maverick’s 360-Degree Camera, new for 2025, assists with urban maneuvering and tight parking spaces. Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist simplify towing, making it easy to hitch and back up trailers. These technologies, available in early 2025, come standard on the Lariat and Tremor trims.
Ford Co-Pilot360 technology offers peace of mind with standard features like Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping Aid, a Rear View Camera, and Auto LED High-Beam Headlamps. The Lariat and Tremor trims also include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering, and Predictive Speed Assist.
The 2025 Maverick sports a refreshed appearance with redesigned headlamps, front bumper, and grille. Higher trims feature LED projector headlamps with signature accent lighting, and the Lariat trim adds sophisticated 19-inch wheels. Inside, new trim colors and materials enhance the cabin, with the XLT featuring Grabber Blue accents and the Lariat offering a Smoke Truffle theme with bronze accents.
A new Black Package, with a unique grille, black roof, black Ford badges, and 19-inch gloss black wheels, adds to the customization options.
Starting at $26,295, plus $1,595 for destination and delivery, the 2025 Maverick offers great value. Orders begin on August 1, with deliveries expected to start in late 2024.
