Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) has announced its second production vehicle, the 2026 IONIQ 9, a three-row all-electric SUV. The IONIQ 9, revealed at AutoMobility LA 2024 and AutoNation Hyundai Savannah, will be the first all-new Hyundai model built at the advanced Georgia-based Metaplant.
Featuring a spacious, flexible interior, the IONIQ 9 offers a 12.3-inch curved touch display, optional Relaxation Seats in the first and second rows, and an extensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

All trims target 300+ miles of range and feature a NACS port for ultra-fast 800V charging, enabling a 10-80% charge in just 24 minutes with a 350-kW DC charger.
Production of the IONIQ 9 begins in early 2025, with sales starting in Q2. The SUV is expected to qualify for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit, thanks to U.S. assembly and battery sourcing.
HMGMA, Hyundai Motor Group’s first dedicated EV plant, highlights Hyundai’s commitment to innovation, combining AI-driven production and robotics to enhance efficiency and create a worker-friendly environment. The Metaplant will also produce electrified vehicles for Genesis and Kia as it ramps up operations.
