Hyundai Motor Company has introduced the IONIQ 9, a three-row, all-electric SUV that blends futuristic design, advanced EV technology, and expansive interior space.
Revealed at the iconic Goldstein House in Los Angeles, the IONIQ 9 embodies Hyundai’s vision for innovation in electrification and builds on the success of its award-winning IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6.
The IONIQ 9 will be available for sale in Korea and the United States in the first half of 2025, with plans for a broader rollout in Europe and other markets to follow.

Redefining Electric Mobility
Built on Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the IONIQ 9 offers a WLTP-projected range of 620 km with its 110.3 kWh battery. It supports ultra-fast charging, reaching 80% capacity in just 24 minutes.
This SUV also introduces advanced features like vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality and customizable digital upgrades through Hyundai’s Features on Demand (FoD) service.
Under the hood, customers can choose between rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations, with the Performance AWD model accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds.
Expansive and Versatile Interior
With its flat floor and longest wheelbase of any Hyundai model, the IONIQ 9 provides a spacious and serene cabin for up to seven passengers. The Relaxation Seats, available in the first and second rows, recline fully with leg rests for comfort during charging stops. Unique Swiveling Seats in the second row allow passengers to face those in the third row, fostering interaction during stationary moments.
The innovative Universal Island 2.0 console slides up to 190 mm, offering enhanced storage and accessibility. The trunk accommodates up to 1,323 liters of luggage with the third row folded and offers additional front trunk space.
Sustainable and Sophisticated Design
IONIQ 9’s design features ‘Aerosthetic’ styling, combining aerodynamic efficiency with bold aesthetics. A streamlined roofline, flush surfaces, and a low drag coefficient of 0.259 Cd contribute to the vehicle’s efficiency.
The interior incorporates eco-friendly materials such as recycled PET fabrics and bio-based paints, alongside a panoramic curved display for infotainment and slim ambient lighting to create a futuristic yet inviting ambiance.
Safety and Technology
Equipped with Hyundai’s latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), the IONIQ 9 enhances driver and passenger safety with features like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind-Spot View Monitor. It also offers over-the-air (OTA) updates, AI voice recognition, and a digital key for seamless connectivity and customization.
A Global Vision
“IONIQ 9 embodies Hyundai Motor’s unwavering commitment and confidence in electrification,” said Jaehoon Chang, Hyundai’s President and CEO. The launch underscores Hyundai’s goal of having 23 EV models in its lineup by 2030, further solidifying its leadership in the global EV market.
The IONIQ 9’s debut positions it as a flagship in Hyundai’s electric vehicle lineup, delivering cutting-edge features and redefining expectations for family-friendly EVs.
