Hyundai Motor Company today unveiled teaser images for its latest all-electric vehicle, the IONIQ 9, a three-row SUV positioned to lead Hyundai’s IONIQ lineup into the large SUV segment.

Set for a world premiere in November 2024, the IONIQ 9 builds on the success of the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, aiming to combine spacious comfort with advanced aerodynamics through a design concept Hyundai calls “Aerosthetic.”

This new model’s single-curved roofline, extended wheelbase, and ample cabin space reflect Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which prioritizes passenger comfort and spaciousness.

The SUV draws inspiration from yacht design, blending aerodynamic efficiency with a roomy interior that accommodates all passengers, including a spacious third row.

IONIQ 9’s teaser sketches highlight intricate design elements like the character lines on its sides, which evoke the elegant lines of traditional Korean hanbok clothing. Hyundai’s signature Parametric Pixel lighting design, seen on the front lamps, and a multi-spoke wheel design accentuate the SUV’s streamlined yet dynamic profile.

Hyundai will share more details on the IONIQ 9 through social media leading up to its November launch. The unveiling of the IONIQ 9 comes as Hyundai continues its push into electrification, marking a significant year for the company, which celebrated the production of its 100 millionth vehicle earlier this year and has set an ambitious target of 2 million EV sales by 2030.

Hyundai’s commitment to electrification is part of its broader vision, “Progress for Humanity,” with a focus on zero-emission mobility solutions and advanced technologies, including robotics and hydrogen fuel cell technology.
