Hyundai’s 2024 Sonata HEV Limited has claimed the top spot in the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) category at the Southern Automotive Media Association’s (SAMA) inaugural Charged Up Miami event, held on August 28, 2024.
The Sonata HEV outperformed competitors, including the Toyota Camry HEV, showcasing Hyundai’s leadership in hybrid technology and design.

Charged Up Miami brought together industry experts and journalists to evaluate the latest in electric and hybrid vehicles.
The Sonata HEV Limited stood out for its sleek design, advanced features, and impressive fuel efficiency, with an EPA-estimated combined economy of up to 52 MPG.
“We’re honored by this recognition from SAMA, as the Sonata Hybrid delivers a powerful yet eco-friendly driving experience,” said Olabisi Boyle, Hyundai Motor North America’s senior vice president.
SAMA president Woodie Lesesne praised the vehicle’s efficiency and innovative features, noting Hyundai’s commitment to advancing hybrid technology.
Equipped with a 2.0L GDI Atkinson Cycle engine, a 6-speed automatic transmission, and cutting-edge tech like Digital Key 2.0 and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, the Sonata HEV Limited continues to set a benchmark in hybrid innovation.
