Hyundai Motor America kicked off 2025 with record-breaking momentum, reporting its best-ever March sales at 87,019 units—up 13% from last year—and marking the sixth consecutive month of record total sales.
Retail sales climbed 15% to 79,019 units, driven by strong performances from the Tucson, Santa Fe, Elantra N, IONIQ 5, and Palisade. Electrified vehicles made up 26% of March’s retail sales, with hybrid sales soaring 72% and total electrified sales up 38%.
In the first quarter, Hyundai achieved its highest Q1 total and retail sales ever, with 203,554 units sold (up 10%) and 181,075 retail units (up 9%).

Models like the Santa Fe, Tucson, Palisade, and IONIQ 5 all set new Q1 records. Hybrid sales surged 68%, while EV sales saw a modest 3% increase.
Hyundai continues to invest heavily in U.S. operations, celebrating the grand opening of its Georgia Metaplant—the largest economic development project in the state’s history—and announcing a $21 billion investment through 2028 to expand local manufacturing and strengthen supply chains.
The company also enhanced its EV ecosystem by offering Hyundai EV owners access to 20,000 Tesla Superchargers via complimentary NACS adapters, along with free home chargers or charging credits for select models.
On the safety front, five Hyundai vehicles received the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, and the brand collected major accolades, including the Santa Fe being named ‘Supreme Winner’ at the 2025 Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year Awards.
Hyundai’s innovation push continues with the launch of its ‘Pleos’ mobility software brand and its recognition as a top finalist at the 2025 World Car Awards. Meanwhile, three Hyundai executives were named among Reuters’ Trailblazing Women in Automotive, underlining the company’s leadership on and off the road.
