Hyundai Mobis unveils M.VICS 5.0, a revolutionary digital cockpit with a panoramic multi-display and advanced safety features, setting a new standard for future in-car infotainment systems.

Hyundai Mobis (KRX: 012330) has introduced M.VICS 5.0, the latest iteration of its advanced digital cockpit technology, setting a new benchmark for future in-car infotainment systems.

This comprehensive driver’s system, presented on June 11th, aims to revolutionize the integration of display technologies within vehicles.

The M.VICS 5.0, under the development slogan “All You Can See,” merges various display technologies into a seamless, borderless widescreen that spans the entire front panel from the driver’s left pillar to the passenger’s right pillar.

This design innovation allows the display to adapt its size and angle based on driving modes, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.

Panoramic Multi-Display System

The system features five interconnected display panels: a 27-inch main screen for dashboard and navigation, a 12.3-inch high-definition passenger screen, a 7-inch vehicle status display, and an additional projection display with touch and haptic feedback for user convenience.

These panels function independently yet integrate smoothly to create a cohesive and expansive driver environment, catering to diverse infotainment needs and exceeding traditional vehicle display expectations.

Adaptable Display Technologies

M.VICS 5.0 boasts a variable display system that adjusts vertically and tilts according to driving conditions. In ‘Drive Mode,’ the display partially retracts for a streamlined view, while in ‘Theater Mode’ and ‘Relax Mode,’ the screen adjusts to provide optimal viewing angles as the steering wheel lowers and the seat tilts, ensuring comfort during media consumption or rest periods.

Enhanced Safety and User Experience

Safety remains paramount in the M.VICS 5.0 design, incorporating lighting technology to prevent rear-side collisions and color scenarios to mitigate motion sickness. Cameras monitor driver alertness, issuing warnings if drowsiness or inattentiveness is detected. The system also integrates advanced safety features, including steering wheel slim airbags, passenger roof airbags, and knee airbags.

Hyundai Mobis continues to lead in innovation with nine new patents filed during M.VICS 5.0’s development, contributing to the over 1,700 patents the company registered in 2023 alone. This dedication to technological advancement positions Hyundai Mobis at the forefront of the future mobility market.
