Hyundai Motor Company has secured several prestigious awards at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2024, including top honors for its groundbreaking designs in electric vehicles and heritage projects.
The company won Gold for the IONIQ 5 N, Bronze for the new SANTA FE, and the coveted Curator’s Choice Award for its “PONY” heritage collection book.
The IONIQ 5 N, recognized with a Gold Award, is a high-performance electric vehicle (EV) built on Hyundai’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Designed to maximize performance, it also holds the title of 2024 World Performance Car of the Year, reflecting Hyundai’s electrification strategy and motorsport innovation.
In the SUV category, the fifth-generation SANTA FE earned a Bronze Award for its bold design and versatile interior, aimed at outdoor enthusiasts.
With an extended wheelbase and innovative foldable seating, it highlights Hyundai’s ‘Open for More’ concept, blending high-tech features with sustainable materials.
Hyundai’s heritage project, “PONY,” claimed both the Curator’s Choice Award and Gold in the Branding category. This collection book documents Hyundai’s first mass-produced car, featuring design sketches and development history, underscoring the company’s focus on humanity and innovation.
Other notable projects included the SANTA FE XRT Concept and the SPACE mobility solution, which also garnered attention at IDEA 2024 for their innovative approach to transportation design.
Hyundai’s success at IDEA 2024 builds on its recent recognition from other global design platforms, including the Red Dot and iF Design Awards.
