Hyundai Motor America has reaffirmed its commitment to child safety and community support with a $25,000 donation to the Children’s Hospital of Michigan’s Injury Prevention Program.

The funding, made through the Children’s Foundation and under the Hyundai Hope initiative, will help provide car seats and enhance child passenger safety education across Metro Detroit.

The partnership aims to empower families with knowledge and resources amid changes in Michigan’s car seat safety laws.

Hyundai and the Children’s Hospital recently hosted a safety check event at the hospital’s Detroit Specialty Center, where certified technicians guided parents on proper car seat use, conducted inspections, and replaced unsafe seats with new ones for families in need.

“Education is key to child passenger safety,” said Benjamin Michajlyszyn, Hyundai’s director of safety testing. “We’re ensuring families have access to vital tools and knowledge to protect their children every time they’re on the road.”

Echoing that, injury prevention coordinator Renee Zarr emphasized the frequency of car seat misuse and the real-world impact it has in emergency rooms, thanking Hyundai for backing their life-saving outreach.

Andrew Stein, CEO of the Children’s Foundation, praised the initiative’s tangible impact: “Proper car seats reduce the risk of injury or death by over 70 percent. Hyundai’s support is helping us reach more families and save more lives.”

This collaboration not only boosts physical safety for children but also reflects Hyundai’s enduring focus on social responsibility and long-term community investment.
