The upcoming 2026 Cadillac LYRIQ-V, the brand’s first all-electric V-Series model, introduces a groundbreaking soundscape meticulously designed to match its high-performance DNA.
Spearheaded by Jay Kapadia, GM’s creative sound director, the LYRIQ-V’s auditory experience is crafted with a blend of engineering precision and musical artistry, ensuring that its lack of a traditional engine doesn’t mean a lack of emotion.
Recognizing the importance of a unique sonic identity, Kapadia collaborated with engineers, designers, and AKG, Cadillac’s audio supplier, to develop a six-layer sound system integrated into the 23-speaker AKG Studio Audio System.

These layers respond dynamically to different driving conditions: from subtle base tones under light acceleration to simulated revs, low-frequency tones at highway speeds, and regenerative braking sounds.
In V-Mode, where the LYRIQ-V unleashes Launch Control to achieve 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, all six layers activate, creating a high-intensity, performance-focused sound experience.

Kapadia drew inspiration from the CT5-V Blackwing and the V-Series.R race car, incorporating elements of their aggressive auditory signatures into the LYRIQ-V’s sound profile.
The result is an electrified performance machine that not only delivers thrilling acceleration but also provides an engaging, visceral connection between driver and vehicle.
Cadillac enthusiasts can experience this next-generation EV sound design when the LYRIQ-V arrives in showrooms later this year.
