GM Energy is expanding its offerings with the launch of the GM Energy PowerBank, a stationary energy storage system for EV owners, now available nationwide.
The PowerBank comes in 10.6 kWh and 17.7 kWh versions and can store energy from the grid or solar panels. It can power homes during outages or reduce electricity costs by offsetting peak rates.
By combining two 17.7 kWh units, users can create 35.4 kWh of storage, enough to power a typical home for up to 20 hours.

A key feature of GM Energy’s portfolio is its modularity. According to Wade Sheffer, GM Energy’s VP, their energy management tools and vehicle-to-home-capable EVs give consumers more control over their energy use, helping to manage outages and integrate renewable energy.
The PowerBank is part of the GM Energy Home System bundle, which includes the PowerShift charger and Vehicle-to-Home Enablement kit. Customers with solar installations can use preferred partner Qmerit for assessments and quotes, with all systems managed via GM’s mobile apps.
Pricing, installation, and delivery times vary, and more details are available on GM Energy’s website. GM Energy aims to build a complete energy ecosystem through new products, services, and expanded access to EV and energy management resources.
