GM Energy is Transforming EVs into Power Solutions for Homes and Beyond
Electric vehicles (EVs) already offer benefits like reduced maintenance and zero tailpipe emissions, but GM Energy is taking things further—turning EVs into a key part of a connected energy system that powers homes, lifestyles, and even the grid.
Expanding Public Charging
GM Energy is focused on making charging more accessible across the U.S., with over 231,000 public charging ports, including nearly 50,000 DC fast chargers. Collaborations with EVgo, ChargePoint, and Pilot Flying J are adding thousands more charging stalls in high-traffic areas.

Plus, with a NACS adapter, GM EV owners can access more than 20,000 Tesla Superchargers. Navigation through built-in systems and GM mobile apps ensures seamless charging stops, and drivers can pay for sessions directly through the app.
Convenient Home Charging
With a home charger, GM EV owners can wake up to a full battery every morning. Most American drivers can meet up to 80% of their charging needs overnight.
For instance, the 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali delivers an estimated 460 miles per full charge—enough to drive the length of the Grand Canyon twice. GM Energy advisors help customers select and install the right home charging setup to make EV ownership effortless.

Energy Independence with Vehicle-to-Home Technology
GM EVs are more than just transportation—they can power homes during outages. The PowerShift charger and V2H Enablement Kit enable bidirectional charging, letting an EV supply electricity to a properly equipped home.
For added resilience, the GM Energy Home System includes stationary battery storage (PowerBank), which can store grid or solar energy for use when needed. Two PowerBanks can provide 35.4 kWh of backup power—enough to run an average home for up to 20 hours.
Looking Ahead: Vehicle-to-Grid Technology
GM Energy is working with major utilities to develop vehicle-to-grid capabilities, allowing EV owners to sell stored energy back to the grid, essentially turning their cars into mobile power plants.
GM is actively shaping this energy-powered future by expanding charging networks, advancing home energy solutions, and paving the way for grid integration. To learn more, visit the GM Energy website.
