The Hyundai Xcient truck features a 180-kilowatt hydrogen fuel cell system powering a 350-kilowatt electric motor, which is paired with Allison’s automatic transmission for smooth acceleration and efficient operation. GLS officials praised the truck’s agility, quiet operation, and reliability throughout the trial, noting its suitability for night deliveries in populated areas.
Allison Transmission’s patented torque converter technology allows the Xcient to operate efficiently with a smaller drive motor, enhancing range and reducing costs. The successful deployment underscores Allison’s commitment to providing versatile, eco-friendly propulsion solutions for the transportation industry.
