GOODWOOD, England — Ford Performance has introduced the new Ford Raptor T1+, the pinnacle of Raptor design and capability, engineered to tackle the grueling Dakar Rally. Debuting at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, this purpose-built off-road vehicle showcases advanced suspension, a powerful V8 engine, and a rugged design crafted for extreme rally raid terrains.
Engineered for Excellence
Developed in collaboration with M-Sport Ltd., the Raptor T1+ incorporates insights from this year’s Dakar Rally. It features a sophisticated suspension system with Fox three-way and four-way adjustable dampers, providing superior handling and durability. The Coyote-based 5.0-liter V8 engine delivers the necessary power and torque for challenging terrains, equipped with a unique dry-sump oil system and a tuned exhaust optimized for Dakar conditions.

Design and Performance Features
- Advanced Suspension: Independent double-wishbone suspension with Fox adjustable dampers ensures exceptional handling and durability. The truck is equipped with 8.5-inch by 17-inch aluminum wheels and 37-inch tires, complemented by Alcon ventilated discs and six-piston calipers for robust braking.
- V8 Performance: The 5.0L Coyote-based engine is designed to excel in rugged conditions, providing substantial power and torque.
- Purpose-built Off-Road Design: Constructed with a T45 steel spaceframe and carbon fiber body panels, the Raptor T1+ offers a striking appearance and functional benefits, including 400mm ground clearance and a wide stance for improved stability.
Elite Drivers and Upcoming Competitions
The Raptor T1+ will be piloted by elite drivers Carlos Sainz Sr. with navigator Lucas Cruz, and Nani Roma with navigator Alex Haro. Additional teams will be announced later this year. The vehicle will debut in the 2024 Baja Hungary (Aug. 8-10), followed by the 2024 Rallye du Maroc (Oct. 4-11), culminating in the 2025 Dakar Rally (Jan. 4-17).
