Ford Motor Company’s diverse U.S. product lineup has driven substantial second-quarter sales increases across trucks, vans, hybrid and electric vehicles, and Lincoln models.

The company, the world’s leading pickup manufacturer, reported that its F-Series remains America’s best-selling truck. Through June, the F-Series outsold the Silverado by 71,000 units and the Ram by 173,000. The Maverick and Maverick Hybrid also set new first-half sales records, with F-Series sales totaling 199,463 in Q2, up 30 percent from Q1.

Ford’s Transit van, America’s best-seller, posted a new first-half sales record. The company also set an all-time record for SUV sales in the first half of 2024, surpassing the previous record set in 2017. Customers continue to value Ford’s software and service offerings.

Andrew Frick, president of Ford Blue, emphasized the appeal of the brand’s diverse lineup, stating, “From the urban customer who wants the capability of a small pickup like Maverick to the businesses that rely on Transit vans, the distinctive Ford lineup is resonating with customers.” Frick also highlighted the growth in hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as post-purchase experiences such as BlueCruise hands-free driving and the Ford Pro Intelligence software platform.

Ford’s total vehicle sales for Q2 rose 1 percent year-over-year. Truck sales (including pickups and vans) reached 308,920, marking a 5 percent increase compared to 2023 and representing the company’s best Q2 truck sales performance since 2019.

Ford hybrid sales surged 56 percent to 53,822 units, with the Maverick leading as the top-selling hybrid pickup in the U.S., totaling 40,420 sales in the first half of the year. The F-150 Hybrid also saw significant growth, with sales of 33,674, up 38 percent.

Electric vehicle sales increased by 61 percent in Q2, with 23,957 units sold. Year-to-date, Ford’s EV sales are up 72 percent, positioning the brand as the second largest EV manufacturer in the U.S., trailing only Tesla. The Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning have been key drivers, with the F-150 Lightning recording 7,902 Q2 sales, up 77 percent from last year.

The E-Transit, America’s best-selling electric van, more than doubled its sales in the first half of 2024 compared to 2023, achieving its best quarterly sales since its 2022 debut.

Ford’s commercial vans continue to dominate, with the Transit and E-Series accounting for half of the full-size commercial van segment in Q2. Transit sales increased by 28 percent in the first half of the year, while F-Series Super Duty sales grew by 8 percent.

Ford Pro Intelligence subscriptions reached approximately 600,000 by the end of Q2, a 33 percent increase from last year. Ford-brand SUVs also had a record first half, with sales of 406,467, up 3 percent. The Explorer led with 104,803 units sold, and the Escape saw a 15 percent increase to 74,538 units.

Lincoln sales were up 19 percent in Q2, driven by the strong performance of the all-new Lincoln Nautilus, which led with 8,273 SUVs sold. The Nautilus hybrid represented 44 percent of these sales. The Corsair and Aviator also posted significant gains.

Remote service appointments and Pickup & Delivery services surged by 175 percent in the first half of 2024, reaching 1.8 million, reflecting growing customer demand for these convenient service options.
