Following a successful 2024 season with podium finishes at Le Mans and in the IMSA series, Ford aims to further expand its global GT3 program. The Mustang GT3 will now compete in iconic endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa, and the Rolex 24 at Daytona, solidifying Ford’s presence in GT racing.

HRT, a powerhouse in European motorsports with titles like the 2021 DTM Drivers’ Championship and the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe title, brings a wealth of expertise to the Mustang GT3 program.

Ford’s own legacy in European racing dates back to the 1980s, with successes like the Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth and Nürburgring 24-hour victories, making this partnership a nostalgic yet forward-looking move for the brand.

Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance Motorsports, emphasized that HRT’s proven success reinforces Ford’s commitment to GT3 racing. “This partnership with HRT,” he said, “positions the Mustang GT3 at iconic 24-hour races, expanding our global reach and opening new audiences.”

Ulrich Fritz, managing director at HRT, shared his excitement, calling the partnership an honor. “Ford is a brand with deep motorsport heritage, and the Mustang GT3 is a cutting-edge race car. We’re thrilled to help take it to the next level,” Fritz remarked.

With this collaboration, Ford’s Mustang GT3 is poised to showcase American muscle across Europe’s legendary tracks, engaging new fans and continuing Ford’s legacy in motorsport. For more information on the Mustang GT3, visit Ford’s performance site.
