In a recent video from Mirafiori, Olivier Francois, CEO of FIAT and Global CMO of Stellantis, highlighted the strategic significance of the FIAT Plant in Turin and Italy’s central role in the brand’s operations.

With 70% of FIAT vehicles sold in Italy being manufactured domestically, Italy remains the heart and driving force of the brand, reaffirming FIAT’s commitment to Italian craftsmanship and production.

The historic Mirafiori plant is set to produce the new Fiat 500 Ibrida, a hybrid model, slated for release between late 2025 and early 2026.

Francois expressed pride in FIAT’s Italian roots, stating, “FIAT is proud to be a flag-bearer for Italy throughout the world. Italy serves as our foundation, our driving force, and our future. And Mirafiori is one of our engines which represents Italy, its people, its values, its pride and the 500.

But today, 90% of Mirafiori production goes abroad. To increase the number of 500s on the road in Italy and to answer the Italian customers, we have decided to produce the new 500 Ibrida.”

The Mirafiori plant will develop, engineer, and design the new 500 Ibrida, ensuring it is proudly “Made in Mirafiori.” This commitment extends to the components, with the engine sourced from the Stellantis plant in Termoli, the exhaust system produced in Napoli, and the gearbox manufactured at Mirafiori.

FIAT’s dedication to electric vehicles and Mirafiori is further demonstrated by a recent 100-million-euro investment to enhance the Fiat 500e with new generation battery technology, making it more affordable for customers.

The 500e MIRAFIORI Special Edition: The new Fiat 500e MIRAFIORI commemorates the Mirafiori plant’s legacy, 50 years after the Fiat 131 Mirafiori’s debut in 1974. This special edition cabrio electric vehicle features two battery options (42 kWh and 23.8 kWh) and is available in a new Celestial Blue, perfect for the Italian summer and embodying the La Dolce Vita spirit.

Standard features include a Level 2 assisted driving system, 360° drone view parking assistance, premium soft-touch seats, a 10.25” touchscreen radio, and a 320-watt JBL premium audio system.

Integrated navigation, connected services, and full-LED projectors enhance the driving experience. The 16’’ burnished alloy wheels and chromed accents add sophistication, while a newly crafted chromed plate featuring the MIRAFIORI signature and the Turin skyline highlights its uniqueness. The 500e MIRAFIORI will be available exclusively in the Italian market starting this summer.

Through these initiatives, FIAT reinforces its commitment to Italian craftsmanship, innovation, and the strategic importance of Mirafiori, ensuring that the legacy of the iconic Fiat 500 continues to thrive both domestically and globally.
