Ferrari has once again made a bold statement on the global design stage, with its 12Cilindri and 12Cilindri Spider models earning the prestigious iF Design Award Gold—marking the sixth time in nine years the Italian marque has claimed this elite honor.
Presented in Berlin on April 28, the award recognizes outstanding design across various industries, and this year’s competition was particularly fierce, with over 10,500 entries evaluated by a 131-member jury of independent experts.

The iF Design Award is among the most revered accolades in industrial design, established in 1953 by iF International Forum Design GmbH. Its legacy includes early recognition of game-changing products like the Braun SK 4 radio and record player, a minimalist design icon that helped shape modern technology aesthetics.
To earn a Gold Award, designs must go beyond excellence—they must forecast future trends and show exceptional innovation, something Ferrari’s entries clearly achieved.
According to the jury, the 12Cilindri and its Spider counterpart embody Ferrari’s unique ability to blend emotional appeal with elegant, reassuring design.

The judges praised the cars for their “cutting-edge aerodynamics” and the “ingenious use of graphical elements that wrap their 3D surfaces,” recognizing how the designs manage to nod to classic 1950s and ‘60s Ferraris while still feeling distinctly modern and forward-looking. The 12Cilindri was singled out as the pinnacle of automotive form, an ideal balance of heritage, technology, and contemporary flair.
Notably, these were the only vehicles among the 75 Gold Award recipients this year, placing Ferrari in a league of its own within the automotive category. It’s a testament to the creative leadership of Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni and his team at the Ferrari Design Centre, whose work continues to influence and redefine the aesthetics of performance vehicles.

In addition to the Gold-winning models, the new Ferrari F80 supercar also secured an iF Design Award, further reinforcing Ferrari’s dominance in automotive design and commitment to innovation.
The accolades add to the brand’s growing legacy at the iF Awards, bringing Ferrari’s total to 28 wins overall—including six of the ultra-competitive Golds.
With its latest victories, Ferrari finds itself celebrated not just among automakers, but alongside innovators in technology, architecture, transportation, and even designer accessories—proof that its vision and execution are as finely tuned as the engines that power its legendary cars.
