An extremely rare supercar is heading under the hammer with a huge £2.2m price tag.
The 1993 Bugatti EB110 SS Prototype featured at auction is one of only seven made by the luxurious car manufacturer.
At the time it was first released, the vehicle became the world’s fastest ever production car.

The EB110 SS achieved a hair-raising top speed of 221 miles per hour in 1993 to claim the title.

The magnificent motor nabbed this feat at the Bugatti speed testing session at Nardo Ring, Italy in May that same year.
The EB110 SS prototype also featured on the brand’s Japanese tour, being displayed at the Ark Hills Complex in Tokyo.

Following the tour, the motor was sold to the legendary Japanese racing driver Sokichi Shikiba.
Shikiba, the winner of the 1964 grand prix in Japan, was a figurehead of Japanese racing at the time – making him the perfect ambassador for Bugatti.

Its distinctive 3.5-litre quad-turbocharged V-12 engine pumps out an impressive 603 horsepower.
The unique vehicle can reach naught to 60 in just 3.2 seconds, jaw dropping figures for a 30-year-old vehicle.

The exterior of the supercar is finished in an eye-catching Grigio Chiaro metallic over a black trim, as reported by Luxury Auto News.
The vehicle will now head under the hammer in Monterey, California, on 14 to 17 August.

RM Sotheby’s, who are hosting the event, stated: “Representing a fascinating period of Bugatti history, this EB110 Super Sport Prototype, displaying just 7,803 miles at cataloguing and featuring legendary provenance.
“Is presented in its most pure, powerful, and collectable form.

“It would make a fine addition to any collection of serious supercars.”
