EVgo and Toyota Unveil First ‘Empact’ DC Fast Charging Stations in California
EVgo Inc. (NASDAQ: EVGO) and Toyota Motor North America have launched the first DC fast charging (DCFC) stations under Toyota’s “Empact” vision, with new locations in Baldwin Park and Sacramento, California.
These co-branded EVgo stations, each equipped with 350kW fast chargers and capable of serving up to eight vehicles simultaneously, aim to expand fast-charging access for underserved communities.

“Charging availability is key as more consumers consider EVs,” said Scott Levitan, EVgo’s Executive Vice President of Growth. “EVgo remains committed to deploying fast chargers in partnership with automakers like Toyota.”
Toyota’s Empact vision, introduced in April 2023, is focused on expanding charging access, providing affordable mobility, and reducing carbon emissions. The new stations are situated in high-traffic retail areas for added convenience.
Toyota has also extended its EVgo charging program, offering one year of complimentary charging for 2025 Toyota bZ4X buyers and lessees. Customers can locate and access these stations via the Toyota App.
State officials welcomed the initiative, highlighting its impact on clean energy adoption and air quality improvements.
State Senator Angelique Ashby (D-Sacramento) called the project “a milestone for sustainable mobility,” while Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) praised it as a “positive step in regional air quality cleanup.”
