Mark Eddins, owner of Dallas-based Friendly Chevrolet and a 12-time Chevrolet Dealer of the Year, is reshaping the dealership model with a bold push into electric mobility.

A pioneer in the space, Eddins opened EVHQ, a full-service electric vehicle charging park at his dealership in March 2023—welcoming all EV drivers, not just GM customers.

With eight 120 kW chargers, shaded canopies, a dog park, fire pit, and café, the facility is designed for both comfort and community.

Despite being a Chevy dealership, only 25% of charging sessions are from Chevrolet EVs. The rest come from brands like Porsche, BMW, and Tesla—precisely the audience Eddins wants to convert.

“We’re introducing them to competitive Chevy EVs at a third of the cost,” he explains. The strategy is working—many non-Chevy owners have already traded in for General Motors models. By the end of 2025, EVHQ is expected to serve over 10,000 unique drivers and supply around 2 million kWh of energy.

Celebrating over four decades leading Friendly Chevrolet, Eddins continues to innovate. With EVHQ now a registered brand, he’s exploring additional locations and new partnerships, including rental and rideshare fleets.

His vision? Transform dealerships into EV charging and education hubs as electric adoption accelerates.

“Charging isn’t just infrastructure—it’s an opportunity,” says Eddins. And for him, it’s just the beginning.
