The 11th season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship kicked off with an unpredictable E-Prix in São Paulo, marked by two red flags and intense battles on track.
DS Automobiles, partnered with PENSKE AUTOSPORT, showcased strong performance, with Jean-Éric Vergne securing 9th place and the first two points of the season, while Maximilian Günther battled for a podium before an incident dashed his hopes.
Both drivers demonstrated the potential of the DS E-TENSE FE25 cars during qualifying, with Günther starting 4th and Vergne 8th on the grid.

Early in the race, they climbed to 3rd and 5th positions, capitalizing on a track designed for overtaking and strategic use of the enhanced “Attack Mode.” However, Günther’s collision and a subsequent penalty relegated him to 14th for the final sprint, where he finished 11th.
Vergne faced misfortune when a red flag nullified his second Attack Mode, preventing a strategic advantage.
Despite the challenges, DS Performance Director Eugenio Franzetti emphasized the team’s strong pace and potential, while both drivers expressed confidence in the car’s competitiveness ahead of the next race in Mexico City on January 11.
With four championship titles and 51 podiums in Formula E, DS Automobiles remains optimistic about the season, aiming to translate their evident speed into consistent results.
