Set against the picturesque backdrop of old trees and open meadows, Jakobsen’s unique longhouse is a testament to his architectural vision.
The structure, carefully illuminated based on a year-long observation of light patterns, incorporates natural materials, particularly wood. Jakobsen, known for his “new Nordic” architectural style, emphasizes the beauty of wood’s aging process. “Nature and wood – that’s my world,” he explains, favoring Canadian red cedar, which develops a silver patina over time.
Jakobsen’s passion for Porsche is also evident throughout the property. A dedicated space, the Barnhouse Box, showcases his prized Porsche 911 S 2.7 Targa from 1974, complemented by carefully curated memorabilia including steering wheels and a Turbo rear spoiler.
The architect’s love for the brand extends to his family, with his two children, Silje and Tristan, sharing his enthusiasm for the cars.
His wife, Dorte, was initially hesitant to leave their city home for the forest, but she now embraces their nature-filled lifestyle. Alongside the 911, Jakobsen also owns a fully restored 1960 Porsche Junior tractor, which fits perfectly into the rustic surroundings.
Jakobsen’s dream home not only reflects his architectural expertise but also his deep connection to nature and his beloved Porsche collection.
