British cycling legend Sir Mark Cavendish has been named Aston Martin’s first-ever Global High Performance Ambassador, kicking off his role by taking delivery of the luxury automaker’s DBX707, the fastest and most powerful luxury SUV.
Known as the “Manx Missile” for his record-breaking 35 Tour de France stage wins, Cavendish embodies the spirit of performance that Aston Martin champions both on the road and in motorsport, including Formula 1.

Cavendish’s appointment highlights Aston Martin’s commitment to high performance. The collaboration will see the Olympic medalist and former Road Race World Champion provide insights into the brand’s performance culture, contributing to product and marketing initiatives.
Cavendish’s DBX707, finished in Photon Lime to honor both his and Aston Martin’s racing heritage, was put to the test on the Isle of Man’s iconic roads, where he grew up.
Reflecting on his new role, Cavendish expressed excitement at joining a brand known for pushing boundaries, describing his experience with the DBX707 as “a boyhood dream come true.” The SUV’s 194 mph top speed and dynamic handling impressed him as he navigated the challenging Isle of Man terrain.
Marco Mattiacci, Aston Martin’s Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer, praised Cavendish as a perfect ambassador for the brand, stating that his performance-driven mentality aligns with Aston Martin’s ethos, as demonstrated by their presence in Formula 1 and the creation of the Valkyrie hypercar.
