A controversial helmet allegedly for Oisin Tymon which Jeremy Clarkson signed “F*ck off’ has sold for £3,800.
It was worn by Top Gear driver The Stig and was meant to be given to producer Tymon.
Ex-show presenter Clarkson, 64, infamously had a spat with him in 2015.
It ultimately led to the demise of his 23-year stint fronting the BBC motoring show.
It was found dumped in the Top Gear studios.
The helmet was sold by Eastbourne Auctions, in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
It had only been expected to sell for between £1,000 and £2,000, as reported by Luxury Auto News.
A spokesperson for the auction house said: “The Stig BBC Top Gear autographed motor racing helmet signed by The Stig and Jeremy Clarkson.
“This controversial helmet is believed to be the one signed for the Irish producer Oisin Tymon whom Clarkson had an altercation with in 2015.
“Signed by Clarkson” “F*ck Off” and “The Stig “To the Main Man Osh!! Stay Speedy Brother”
“Left in the offices of Top Gear when the studio was abandoned after the altercation and then the axing of the show
Ex-co-presenter James May signed it with “Go Slow!”
