Classic Ferrari 275 Kids Toy for Sale at £40,000, Limited to 30 mph and Not Road Legal

A classic Ferrari 275 miniature, estimated to sell for £40,000, is up for auction, but this charming toy can’t be driven on public roads as it’s a 30mph kids’ car. The Ferrero Le Mans Children’s Car is a meticulous one-third scale model of the iconic 1964 Le Mans-winning Ferrari 275 P.

While the original Ferrari 275 could reach 155 mph with its 370 bhp, four-liter engine, this pint-sized version is powered by a 50cc engine and a 12v battery, offering a maximum speed of 30 mph and a modest 4 bhp. Crafted with exquisite attention to detail, it features a tubular steel chassis and a one-piece fiberglass body.

Auctioned by RM Sotheby’s, this miniature tribute is one of only 12 handcrafted in 1992 by Eugenio Ferrero at his Carrozzeria Eugenio in Briosco, Italy. Styled after the Le Mans-winning car, it boasts red and white livery, a tan leather seat, and a four-speed gearbox with reverse gear.
