Chevrolet has unveiled the Silverado EV ZR2 off-road race truck concept at the Mint 400, where it will compete in the Open Production EV class as part of the Hall Racing team.
Driven by Chad Hall, this all-electric race truck joins the Silverado ZR2 and Colorado ZR2, taking on one of the toughest off-road races in the world.
“There is no better proving ground to test our vehicles than competitive racing,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet.

Built with 98 percent GM production parts, the Silverado EV ZR2 race truck concept showcases Chevrolet’s commitment to durability and off-road performance.
Designed for Extreme Off-Roading
Following the proven ZR2 formula, the race truck is equipped with:
- Lifted front and rear suspension with off-road tuning
- Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve dampers delivering more than 13 inches of wheel travel
- Locking differentials and underbody skid protection
- 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 Mud-Terrain tires
- Tri-motor electric propulsion producing 1,100 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque
Chevrolet engineers will work alongside Hall Racing to analyze the truck’s performance, durability, and capability, using race data to refine production vehicles, off-road performance parts, and accessories. “An off-road race like the Mint 400 is equivalent to a lifetime of wear and tear,” said Chad Hall.
Expanding Chevrolet’s Off-Road EV Lineup
The Silverado EV ZR2 race truck concept debuts as Chevrolet prepares to launch the 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss this summer. The Trail Boss will bring enhanced off-road capability with:
- Factory-installed lift
- 18-inch wheels and 35-inch all-terrain tires
- Red tow hooks and new Terrain Mode for improved maneuverability
More details on the Silverado EV Trail Boss will be released soon as Chevrolet continues to push the boundaries of off-road EV performance.
