Eric Warren, GM’s executive director of global motorsports competition, emphasized that while Chevrolet remains dedicated to its proven V8 NASCAR engines, it continues to push the boundaries of power, durability, and efficiency to advance both racing and road-going EVs.

Built on NASCAR’s Next Gen chassis and suspension, the Blazer EV.R was developed with NASCAR and other manufacturers to align with the sport’s evolving technical landscape. The prototype integrates design elements from the Blazer EV SS, with a lower, wider stance optimized for aerodynamics and performance. During recent testing at Carolina Motorsports Park, Team Chevy driver and 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion Justin Allgaier put the EV.R through its paces, highlighting the learning curve in adjusting to regenerative braking and electric power delivery.

Chevrolet will also lead the DAYTONA 500 on February 16 with the Blazer EV SS pace car, a 615-horsepower SUV capable of 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds with Wide Open Watts mode—the fastest SS model Chevrolet has ever produced. Actor Alan Ritchson will serve as the honorary pace car driver.

Additionally, the Corvette Stingray will pace the Xfinity Series United Rentals 300 on February 15, while the Chevrolet Silverado RST will lead the field in the Craftsman Truck Series Fresh From Florida 250 on February 14.

By pushing the limits of EV technology in motorsports, Chevrolet continues to innovate and shape the future of performance, both on the track and in the showroom.
