For nearly 30 years, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has been a favorite among motorhome manufacturers and enthusiasts, thanks to its versatility and reliability as a base vehicle. The latest generation continues this legacy, offering a broad range of body styles, engines, and drivetrains tailored to the motorhome industry’s needs.
Showcased at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, the new Sprinter highlights its advanced technology, which enhances both safety and comfort, making it even more suitable for motorhome applications.

The Sprinter’s adaptability is evident in its various configurations, from panel vans ideal for luxury campers to chassis that can be converted into different motorhome types, and the traction head variant allowing for flexible living area designs.
The engine lineup remains diverse, with the OM 654 four-cylinder diesel engine available in four power levels, alongside front-wheel, rear-wheel, and all-wheel drive options, catering to vehicles up to 5.5 tonnes in weight.
Safety has been significantly improved with new and updated driver assistance systems, such as Active Brake Assist and Sideguard Assist, which offer better protection and awareness on the road.
The interior has also been upgraded with a new high-tech steering wheel and an enhanced MBUX multimedia system featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen, faster processing, and a smarter voice assistant. Additionally, motorhome-specific features like “Hibernation Mode” and specialized navigation for oversized vehicles further elevate the travel experience.
At the Caravan Salon, a variety of motorhome models based on the new Sprinter were unveiled, showcasing the vehicle’s versatility. Highlights included Hymer’s Grand Canyon S CrossOver and Adria Mobil’s MATRIX SUPREME MB 670 DL, among others. These models demonstrate how the Sprinter continues to set the standard in the motorhome industry.
Mercedes-Benz also expanded its van lineup, including the new eSprinter and the updated V-Class Marco Polo, ensuring its leadership in both conventional and electric vehicles.
