A vintage Bugatti is for sale for only £288,000… but there’s a catch.
Type 57 Ventouxs are usually one of the most expensive types of the famous cars when they come on the market.
They fetch up to £1million when in mint condition.
But this 1936 version is for sale at a knockdown price and it’s not hard to see why.

It is covered in rust with the paintwork peeled away.
Inside the seats are ripped.
It is a huge restoration project to return the car to its former glory.
This 88-year-old motor was kept under a single family ownership for 50 years, where it remained largely unseen.
The Ventoux only made one public appearance under this ownership during the September 2012 Boston Cup Classic Car Show.
The two-door Ventoux coachwork was designed by Jean Buggati and built at the Molsheim works in France.
In its prime years the motor was grey and had striking body features including a steeply raked windscreen, flowing lines and a rear-mounted spare.
As the vehicle went from owner to owner in the first 30 years of its life, the Ventoux was sold in the mid-1960s by Osmo Penttinen of Westminster, Massachusetts.
The car then stayed in the Penttinen family for the next five decades, where the vehicle spent majority of the time in storage.
Due to being left to its own devices the vehicle has begun to rust and is in need of a full restoration, as reported by Luxury Auto News.
Gullwing Motor Cars have now listed the 1936 Bugatti Type 57 Ventoux for sale in New York, US.
The antique and classic car buyers describe the motor as: “Delivered new to France; documented in the American Bugatti Register.
“A desirable Second-Series Type 57 with Jean Bugatti-designed Ventoux Coachwork.
“It retains its original matching numbers engine and original factory data tag.
“Kept in single family ownership for over 50 years, this is the ideal candidate for restoration or museum display.
“With timeless styling and sophisticated engineering, the Type 57 is the ultimate road-going Bugatti and enjoys sought-after status among collectors.
“Chassis 57422, which features the improved second-series chassis and classic Ventoux bodywork, is among the last unrestored examples of this legendary marque and model.
“For the collector in search of a time capsule Bugatti, we encourage serious consideration of this captivating and highly original Ventoux.”
