Bridgestone Develops Custom Tires for Maserati’s First All-Electric SUV

Bridgestone Americas has partnered with Maserati to develop bespoke 20-inch tires for the automaker’s first all-electric SUV, the Maserati Grecale Folgore.

The collaboration continues their long-term partnership, which has included fitments for the Maserati MC20 supercar and the Maserati Grecale.

The Grecale Folgore is equipped with Bridgestone Potenza Sport ENLITEN tires, designed to enhance the vehicle’s on-road capabilities.

These ultra-high performance tires are engineered to provide superior handling performance in both dry and wet conditions, ensuring drivers remain in control.

Steven De Bock, Vice President Original Equipment at Bridgestone EMEA, stated, “The Grecale Folgore is a historic launch for Maserati on its pioneering electrification journey, and we’re very proud to help bring its performance to life with Bridgestone tires.

We both have a strong commitment to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles; it’s a great moment to see our collaboration break new ground in electric mobility.”

The Potenza Sport ENLITEN tires, which feature Bridgestone’s innovative ENLITEN technology, deliver top performance and maximum safety while enhancing sustainability.

They provide very low rolling resistance, achieving a best-in-class EU label A-grade, which helps extend the Grecale Folgore’s range to 500 km (310 miles).

Both Bridgestone and Maserati share a commitment to electrification, with Maserati aiming to produce electric versions of all its models by 2025 and switch to full-electric vehicles by 2028.

The Grecale Folgore, designed and produced in Italy along with its custom tires, reflects Maserati’s Italian heritage.

Bridgestone utilized its Virtual Tire Development technologies in conjunction with Maserati’s driving simulator to create and test the bespoke tires in a digital environment.

This approach reduces physical prototyping, cuts raw material consumption and carbon emissions, and accelerates the time to market.

Through its integrated approach, Bridgestone is investing in making electric mobility more efficient and accessible. The company is developing premium tires and technologies for EVs and expanding an EV-ready retail and service network to support the transition to electric vehicles.
