BMW has unveiled the latest editions of its M3 Sedan and M3 Touring, showcasing significant upgrades in performance, design, and digital features.
Both models, renowned for blending high-octane performance with everyday usability, now sport a power boost of 15 kW/20 hp for all-wheel-drive variants, along with new design elements and advanced digital systems.
Key enhancements include newly designed headlights, steering wheels, and forged light-alloy wheels. Inside, the models feature updated interior trims and BMW’s latest Operating System 8.5, which supports the advanced BMW iDrive system.
These changes aim to elevate the driving experience for both the driver and up to four passengers.

The new BMW M3 Competition models are equipped with the most powerful version of the six-cylinder in-line engine featuring M TwinPower Turbo technology, delivering 390 kW/530 hp. These models use an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission to channel power to all four wheels. The rear-wheel-drive M3 Sedan retains a 375 kW/510 hp output and offers a six-speed manual gearbox for a pure driving experience.
Production of the new models will commence in July 2024 at BMW Group Plant Munich, targeting major markets including the USA, China, the UK, Australia, and Germany. The Touring model, particularly popular in Germany and other European countries, combines the high performance of the M3 with added practicality and load capacity, making it a versatile choice for enthusiasts.
The BMW M3 lineage, which began in 1986, continues to impress with this sixth generation, integrating numerous elements from race-car technology. High-revving engines, advanced cooling and oil systems, and lightweight construction ensure exceptional performance both on the road and track.
The new M3 models offer various driving modes, including the M xDrive system for enhanced agility and traction, and customizable M Traction Control. The combination of adaptive M suspension, M Servotronic steering, and an integrated braking system ensures dynamic handling and comfort.
Design-wise, the new M3 models feature distinctive M-specific elements such as a large vertical kidney grille, sculpted wheel arches, and aerodynamic enhancements. Inside, the M-specific cockpit is updated with new steering wheels, high-quality materials, and advanced digital displays.
The new M3 Sedan and M3 Touring models also include an extensive range of driver assistance systems, with options for advanced packages like the Driving Assistant Professional. Additionally, new LED headlights and interior ambient lighting enhance the visual appeal and user experience.
The BMW Curved Display and the latest iDrive system provide a modern, intuitive interface for the driver, with seamless integration of touch and voice controls. High-performance seats, including optional M Carbon bucket seats, offer both comfort and support, reflecting the models’ sporting credentials.
Overall, the new BMW M3 Sedan and M3 Touring continue to set benchmarks in the premium midsize sports car segment, combining legendary performance with cutting-edge technology and everyday practicality.
