BMW has introduced a new version of its popular X3 Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) tailored specifically for the Chinese market. This exclusive model, produced at the Shenyang site, boasts an extended wheelbase, luxurious interior, and advanced digital features.
The new BMW X3, designed and built in China, offers a wheelbase increased by 110 millimeters, enhancing rear legroom and overall comfort. It features a premium interior with market-specific details, including the latest BMW iDrive system based on the BMW Operating System 9. This system supports a range of digital services unique to China, ensuring the vehicle meets local demands.

In terms of design, the new X3 showcases a sleek, modern silhouette with an exterior length of 4,865 millimeters and a width of 1,920 millimeters, making it one of the most spacious in its class. The sporty aesthetics are highlighted by a higher proportion of black surfaces and the standard BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting on the radiator grille. Customers can choose from six metallic paint finishes, including the striking Frozen finish.
Inside, the BMW X3 offers a contemporary ambiance with the BMW Curved Display, BMW Interaction Bar, and a steering wheel with a flattened lower rim. The interior also features color-contrasting lighting elements, Veganza comfort seats available in three two-tone colors, and optional “Crafted Clarity” glass applications for select controls. Rear passengers benefit from additional comfort features such as standard comfort cushions, a center armrest with wireless smartphone charging, and an optional panoramic glass roof with Skylounge lighting.
The Shenyang-produced BMW X3, now in its fourth generation, continues the legacy of its predecessors by focusing on the preferences of Chinese customers. The previous model was BMW’s best-selling vehicle globally in 2023, with around 156,000 units delivered in China alone, accounting for 40% of all BMW X model sales in the country.
BMW’s latest offering in the Chinese market underscores its commitment to meeting local needs and preferences, ensuring the new X3 is poised for success in the world’s largest automotive market.
