The iconic BMW M5 is set to revolutionize high-performance sedans with its seventh-generation model, now featuring an electrified drive system for the first time. Celebrating 40 years of performance heritage, the latest M5 combines a 4.4-liter V8 engine with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 727 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. This powerhouse accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.5 seconds, thanks to the M HYBRID system.

The M5’s design continues BMW M’s tradition of aggressive aesthetics and dynamic performance. It features prominent wheel arch and side skirt extensions, a sculptural front apron, and model-specific C-pillar surfacing with an embossed “M5” logo. The new design elements set it apart from the standard 5 Series Sedan, while a high proportion of body-colored surfaces add a puristic touch.

Inside, the M5 offers a luxurious yet sporty environment, with M-specific features such as a sports exhaust system with adjustable flaps and dual tailpipes. The electric motor can propel the car up to 140 km/h (87 mph) on its own, with an electric range of 67–69 km (42–43 miles) thanks to an 18.6 kWh battery. This system enables efficient and powerful performance, whether on urban roads or the racetrack.

The M HYBRID system’s combination of a high-revving V8 engine and an electric motor, paired with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive, ensures immediate throttle response and linear power delivery. The M5 can reach a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), extendable to 305 km/h (189 mph) with the optional M Driver’s Package.
