BMW M Motorsport is set to take a prominent role in virtual racing as the Official Safety Car Partner for iRacing’s 2025 season.
The BMW M2 CS Racing, already popular on the platform as an entry-level vehicle, will lead the field during formation laps at iconic virtual events like the 24 Hours of Daytona and Nürburgring 24.

“This partnership highlights the shared success of BMW M Motorsport and iRacing,” said Timo Brückner, Project Lead BMW M Automotive Gaming. “The BMW M2 CS Racing is perfect for both real-world and virtual racing, offering drivers an authentic experience.”
iRacing President Tony Gardner added, “This collaboration enhances the experience for our nearly 300,000 members, further cementing BMW’s strong presence in sim racing.”
BMW’s tradition of providing safety cars extends to MotoGP™ and now mirrors real-world motorsport in the virtual arena.
The 2025 iRacing Special Events calendar kicks off on January 18 with the Daytona 24, followed by events such as the Bathurst 12 and Petit Le Mans.
