BMW M Motorsport and PUMA launch a second limited-run BMW Art Car Capsule Collection, inspired by Alexander Calder’s iconic design on the 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL.

Munich. BMW Motorsport has partnered with PUMA to launch an exclusive lifestyle collection inspired by the first BMW Art Car, created by Alexander Calder in 1975. Calder, a prominent figure in American modernism and inventor of mobiles, transformed the BMW 3.0 CSL with car number 93 into an iconic piece of automotive art for the Le Mans 24-hour race.

Despite a technical issue preventing the car from finishing, Calder’s vibrant design received widespread acclaim and initiated a unique fusion of art, technology, and racing that continues to this day.

Calder’s distinctive use of intense colors and sweeping surfaces on the BMW 3.0 CSL is mirrored in the new BMW Art Car Capsule Collection.

This collection, the second collaboration between BMW M Motorsport and PUMA, follows a previous collection celebrating the centenary of pop art icon Roy Lichtenstein. The new collection includes a shirt, shorts, two T-shirts, a baseball cap, and sneakers, each featuring Calder’s signature color-blocking style.

The BMW M MOTORSPORT AC SHIRT stands out with its bold color-blocking pattern and Calder’s initials embroidered on the chest, complemented by a PUMA logo and BMW M Motorsport labels.

The matching BMW M MOTORSPORT AC SHORTS share the shirt’s relaxed cut and vibrant colors, featuring an elasticated waistband, drawstring, and practical side pocket. Both items are made from a blend of new and recycled cotton.

The collection’s two white T-shirts, made from a mix of recycled and reclaimed cotton, offer urban style with comfort. The BMW M MOTORSPORT AC1 TEE features a Calder-inspired print and his initials, while the BMW M MOTORSPORT AC2 TEE showcases a large BMW Art Car print on the back and subtle BMW and PUMA logos on the front.

The BMW M MOTORSPORT AC CAP incorporates the collection’s color-blocking theme and includes a woven BMW M Motorsport logo and an embroidered PUMA logo, with an adjustable metal clasp for a perfect fit.

Completing the collection is the BMW M MOTORSPORT AC SNEAKER SUEDE, based on PUMA’s iconic design. The predominantly red suede sneakers feature woven PUMA Formstrips, graphic detailing, and a BMW metal pin on the heel.
