The BMW 2 Series Coupé stands out in the compact segment, combining sporty flair, precise dynamics, and premium features. This two-door model becomes even more appealing with its refreshed design, enhanced standard equipment, and advanced digitalization.
All new BMW 2 Series Coupé variants now come with the M Sport Package and added comfort features as standard. New paint finishes, light-alloy wheels, steering wheels, trim strips, and seat upholstery add modern touches to both the exterior and interior.
The latest BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and innovative digital services based on the BMW Operating System 8.5 further enhance the car’s progressive character.

The compact proportions, sharper design, powerful engines, and standard M Sport suspension of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé provide an emotionally charged driving experience. This model continues the legacy of the legendary BMW 02 Series, known for driving pleasure since the 1960s. Engine options include efficient four-cylinder petrol and diesel units, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission and classic rear-wheel drive.
The new BMW M240i xDrive Coupé, featuring an in-line six-cylinder engine, is unique in its segment (combined fuel consumption: 8.8 – 8.1 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions: 200 – 185 g/km; CO₂ class: G).
Set for market launch in August 2024, the BMW 2 Series Coupé will be produced at the BMW Group plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, alongside the new BMW 3 Series Sedan. This plant, operational since 2019, utilizes efficient and sustainable production processes.
Design Highlights and M Sport Package
The BMW 2 Series Coupé’s design emphasizes driving pleasure with distinctive features like individual round headlamps, a horizontal BMW radiator grille, and a power dome on the long bonnet. The M Sport Package, now standard, intensifies the model’s dynamic character with large air intakes at the front, powerful side skirts, and a striking rear apron with vertical reflectors and a diffuser-like insert. The front grille surround is now in pearlescent chrome, and the side skirts and lower rear apron match the vehicle color. The rear diffuser insert is high-gloss black, creating a contrasting effect.
The BMW M240i xDrive Coupé boasts specific M design features for optimized cooling and aerodynamic balance, including high-gloss black inserts for the side air intakes, a black spoiler lip on the front apron, a model-specific rear spoiler, and trapezoidal tailpipes. High-gloss black exterior mirror caps and the standard M high-gloss Shadow Line further enhance the sporty look. The optional M Pro Sport Package adds M Shadow Line lights, an M rear spoiler in sapphire black, and extended high-gloss Shadow Line features. Red-painted brake calipers and M seatbelts complete the package.
New Paint Finishes and Wheels
The BMW 2 Series Coupé offers a choice of two solid colors and seven metallic colors, including new options like Fire Red metallic and Skyscraper Grey metallic. Exclusive to the BMW M240i xDrive Coupé is the Zandvoort Blue solid paint finish. Standard 18-inch (19-inch for the M240i xDrive) M light-alloy wheels feature a double-spoke design and a Bicolour finish. Optional 19-inch wheels are available in Jetblack or a Bicolour finish, with the BMW Individual range offering new 19-inch light-alloy wheels in Y-spoke design and Bicolour finish.
Interior Sportiness and Digitalization
The BMW 2 Series Coupé’s interior provides an intense driving experience with features like the high center console, anthracite-colored headlining, and harmoniously blended surfaces. Digital enhancements include the BMW Curved Display, comprising a 12.3-inch Information Display and a 14.9-inch Control Display, supporting the BMW iDrive with QuickSelect. The system features a new home screen with a map view or other selectable displays, vertical widgets, and a flat menu structure for intuitive navigation.
Standard ambient lighting now includes waterfall lighting in the central air vents, with adjustable color and brightness options stored in a profile. The M leather steering wheel has a flattened rim, precise spokes, and a red center marker. Heated sports seats with optional electrically operated adjustments, lumbar support, and M sport seats with adjustable backrest width provide optimal support. The M Performtex black seats, standard in all models, combine high-quality materials with a sporty design and sustainable production. Optional perforated Sensatec upholstery and Vernasca leather trim with red accents are also available.
Powerful Engines and M Sport Suspension
The BMW 2 Series Coupé offers a range of powerful and efficient engines, including the unique 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder engine in the BMW M240i xDrive Coupé, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Other engine options include the new BMW 218i Coupé, 220i Coupé, and 230i Coupé, with the 220d Coupé featuring a 48-volt mild hybrid technology. All engines are paired with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission, with the M240i xDrive and other models available with the 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission for enhanced shift dynamics.
The M Sport suspension, standard in four-cylinder models, enhances agility and cornering dynamics, complemented by variable sport steering. The BMW M240i xDrive Coupé is optionally available with Adaptive M Chassis and an M sport differential for a thrilling performance experience.
Advanced Digital Services and Expanded Standard Equipment
The BMW Operating System 8.5 and iDrive with QuickSelect offer intuitive operation and innovative digital services. The system features a new home screen, QuickSelect shortcuts, and support for natural language commands via the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The BMW Maps navigation system provides precise route guidance, while the optional BMW Live Cockpit Professional includes the BMW Head-Up Display with Augmented View.
The BMW 2 Series Coupé includes an expanded range of standard equipment, such as heated front seats, exterior mirror package, and an alarm system. Standard semi-automated driving and parking systems include the Parking Assistant, front collision warning, Lane Departure Warning, Cruise Control, and Speed Limit Info. Optional features include the Driving Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Parking Assistant Plus.
New equipment packages, including the Premium Package and Innovation Package, offer additional customization options. The M Technology Package for the BMW M240i Coupé enhances performance with an optimized cooling system and larger brake discs for the M sport brake system.
