BMW is bringing its new 1 Series to the virtual pitch of Rocket League, marking the car’s debut in the popular online game as part of the upcoming Season 16. Rocket League, known for its high-octane blend of soccer and rocket-powered cars, will see players competing with the BMW 1 Series, which will be available in a Skyscraper Grey metallic paint. Players can further customize the vehicle with an array of Decals, Wheels, Toppers, and Antennas, including exclusive designs developed in collaboration with Epic Games.
To celebrate the launch, BMW and Epic Games are inviting the global gaming community to participate in the Rocket League x BMW Decal Design Contest. From August 9 to August 30, 2024, players can create and submit their own Decal designs for the new BMW 1 Series using downloadable templates.

The winning design will be incorporated into the game through a mid-Season patch, allowing all players who have purchased the car through Rocket Pass Premium to use it. The top three designs will also earn prize money, with $3,000 for the winner, $2,000 for the runner-up, and $1,000 for third place. The winners will be announced during an award show livestream in mid-October.
This collaboration is part of a broader push by BMW to integrate gaming into its brand experience. The new BMW 1 Series is also a pioneer in real-world gaming, featuring the BMW iDrive system with an AirConsole platform that allows drivers and passengers to enjoy a selection of casual games on the car’s Curved Display.
The contest is an opportunity for players to showcase their creativity while enhancing their gameplay experience in Rocket League, underscoring BMW’s commitment to innovation both in the digital and physical realms.
