Bentley Motors has announced the continuation of its collaboration with British fashion designer Supriya Lele, unveiling a bespoke new color, Nīla Blue, available exclusively to Bentley Mulliner clients.

Inspired by Lele’s Indian heritage, Nīla Blue takes its name from the Sanskrit word for “sapphire,” symbolizing a blend of cultural history and refined craftsmanship. Bentley’s Mulliner division is renowned for its expertise in creating bespoke colors, enabling clients to tailor their vehicles with shades inspired by art, fashion, or personal significance.

Nīla Blue exemplifies this custom approach, bringing a distinct and subtle character that is understated yet striking, reflecting both Lele’s artistic sensibility and Mulliner’s commitment to craftsmanship.

Known for her designs that celebrate fluid silhouettes and sensual textures, Lele often uses shades of blue, drawing on personal and cultural connections as well as philosophical influences, including William Gass’s On Blue. Her collaboration with Bentley extends this vision into the automotive world.

To debut Nīla Blue, Lele collaborated with Mulliner on a one-off Bentayga S, showcasing the hue in a striking configuration. The exterior features matching lower brightware, a Nīla Blue pinstripe on 22” sports wheels, and contrasting Mulliner White accents on the carbon fiber bodykit. Inside, satin black speaker grilles, black-stained walnut veneers, and Nīla Blue trims mirror the vehicle’s luxurious exterior.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Lele said, “Color is central to my work, and creating this unique shade with Bentley has been an exciting journey. I appreciate the subtle complexity in its tone, embodying a unique elegance that defies easy definition.”

Bentley’s Chief Commercial Officer David Parker echoed this sentiment, describing Nīla Blue as “a shade that reflects the quiet luxury and depth appreciated by those with discerning tastes.”

Nīla Blue is exclusively available through Bentley’s Mulliner Bespoke Studio, where clients are invited to explore an unbounded realm of customization. Enquiries for this unique offering can be made through Bentley dealerships worldwide.
