American Honda wrapped up April on a high note, reporting a strong month of sales with a total of 137,656 units sold—an 18.1% year-over-year increase—thanks largely to surging demand for light trucks and electrified models.

The standout figure was a record-breaking 100,079 light truck sales, accompanied by an all-time April high of 41,116 electrified units, both driven by strong inventory levels and the appeal of all-new models across the board.

Honda Division
The Honda brand accounted for 123,637 of April’s total, representing a 16.6% bump from the same month last year and an 8.5% gain year-to-date. Light trucks led the charge with 88,807 units sold—a 24% annual increase.

The CR-V remained the company’s top performer with 41,483 units sold, its best-ever April and a hybrid mix surpassing 53%. The redesigned Passport also impressed, surging nearly 99% year-over-year with 5,457 units sold, setting a new April benchmark.

Other solid performers included the HR-V, which posted 13,912 units for its strongest April to date, up 6.7% year-to-date, and the Odyssey, which saw its best April in nine years with 9,677 units sold, a 32.1% increase.

Electrified sales played a key role in Honda’s momentum. The brand posted a record April for electrified vehicles, with 38,785 units sold. Hybrid versions of the Civic, CR-V, and Accord contributed heavily to this figure, with hybrid mixes of 34%, 53%, and over 60%, respectively.

The all-electric Honda Prologue also began to gain traction, contributing 1,847 units to the monthly total. Meanwhile, the Civic led among passenger cars with 23,553 sales, bolstered by its hybrid version posting its best April and second-highest monthly performance ever.

Acura Division
Acura also had a standout April, marking its best since 2021 with 14,019 vehicles sold, up 33% year-over-year. The brand’s SUV lineup drove the majority of sales, totaling 11,272 units—a 49.1% surge.

The newly launched Acura ADX showed early promise with 970 units sold in its first full month on the market. The MDX and RDX also showed strength, with sales up 3.1% and 8.2% respectively. Additionally, the all-electric ZDX reached a new monthly high with 2,331 units.

On the sedan front, Acura recorded 2,747 units in total, led by the Integra’s 2,038 units. The Integra continues to dominate its segment with a commanding 41% market share.

Year-to-Date Performance
Through the end of April, American Honda has moved 489,233 vehicles, reflecting an 8.6% increase year-to-date. Light trucks remain the cornerstone of growth, up 18.6%, while car sales have declined 11.3%. Honda alone contributed 444,448 units to this total, up 8.5%, with Acura adding 44,785 units, up 9.5%.

Together, these figures underscore a solid trajectory for Honda and Acura, fueled by an increasingly electrified lineup and renewed consumer interest in SUVs and crossovers.
