American Honda saw a slight increase in sales for June 2024, with a 1.1% rise, totaling 112,742 units. Year-to-date sales surged by 9.3% over the first half of 2023. Honda brand sales surpassed the 100,000 mark in June, showing a 4.1% increase for the month, a 5.2% rise in the second quarter, and over a 12% growth for the year.
The CR-V maintained its strong performance, exceeding 31,000 units for the fifth consecutive month, with hybrid-electric models comprising 52% of June sales. The HR-V also performed well, with sales up 22% in June to 11,110 units, marking a nearly 40% increase for the second quarter and over 40% for the year. The Pilot recorded over 11,700 units sold in June, reflecting a 19% increase for the year. The Odyssey followed closely, nearing 7,000 units and marking a 32% rise compared to June 2023. The new Prologue saw 830 units sold in June, pushing its total to over 1,500 units after two months of its national rollout. Combined, the Civic and Accord sold over 34,000 units, with 51% of Accord sales being hybrid-electric.

The Acura brand posted June sales of 10,357 units, maintaining strong momentum with a 10.8% increase in Q2 sales over Q1. Acura SUVs reached over 7,700 units, with the MDX topping 4,100 units, the RDX over 3,300 units, and the ZDX selling 255 units. The Acura Integra topped 2,000 units for the fifth consecutive month, continuing to lead the gateway model sales in the first half of 2024.
American Honda’s year-to-date figures stood at 690,281 units, a 9.3% increase. This total includes 228,358 cars (up 3.9%) and 461,923 trucks (up 12.2%). For June alone, sales were 112,742 units, a 1.1% rise, with cars accounting for 37,081 units (down 3.3%) and trucks at 75,661 units (up 3.4%). The Acura brand’s year-to-date sales were 64,015 units, a 13.1% decrease, with 17,849 cars (down 31.4%) and 46,166 trucks (down 3.1%).
“We are pleased to see our sales momentum continue through the second quarter, with strong demand for both Honda and Acura models despite the software cyberattack impacting auto dealers nationwide,” said Lance Woelfer, vice president of Auto Sales at American Honda Motor Co. Inc. “As we begin to ramp up sales of our all-electric Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX, the flexible strategy of offering fuel-efficient petrol, hybrid-electric, and EV models is helping us meet the needs of our customers.”
In sales highlights, the Honda brand’s robust performance in June was led by balanced sales of light trucks and passenger cars. The CR-V remains the top-selling model, averaging over 32,700 units per month in 2024. Civic sales were up in June, the second quarter, and the first half of the year, with a new hybrid model on the way. Despite production line consolidation, Accord demand remains strong. The rugged Pilot TrailSport’s popularity drove a 19% year-to-date sales increase, while Odyssey sales of 6,911 units in June kept it as the leading minivan in retail sales.
For the Acura brand, despite a higher percentage of dealers being impacted by the cyberattack, strong customer demand boosted Q2 sales by 10.8% over Q1. The Integra topped 2,100 units, continuing to lead the gateway segment. MDX sales surpassed 4,100 units with a refreshed model reaching the market, and year-to-date RDX sales were up 28.4% compared to the same period last year.
