Performance and Design Highlights:

  • Performance Pack: The Mustang GTD’s Performance package includes dive planes, a larger front splitter, underbody flaps, and a drag reduction system on the rear wing. These active aerodynamic components reduce drag while maintaining grip during cornering. The Lightweight package within the Performance pack removes some sound-deadening material and adds 20-inch magnesium wheels, enhancing overall agility.

  • Interior Features: The Mustang GTD interior, revealed for the first time at Le Mans, focuses on driver comfort and control. It includes large 3D-printed titanium paddle shifters, standard Recaro seats, and a thick-rimmed flat-bottom steering wheel with additional controls. The steering wheel, featuring premium materials and carbon-fiber inserts, includes buttons for adjusting suspension firmness and exhaust mode. New buttons on the hero panel provide access to Track Apps and a front-axle lift function.

  • Engine and Transmission: Powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, the Mustang GTD targets over 800 horsepower. It uses an eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle, with titanium paddle shifters for manual control.

  • Exterior Design: The Mustang GTD Carbon Series features exposed carbon-fiber elements and Chroma Flame paint, a deep burgundy shade exclusive to this model. The Carbon Series leaves the hood, roof, and rear Tech Deck unpainted and offers wheels in Magnetite. Additional color options include Polymimetic Gray, Race Red, Shadow Black, Frozen White, and Lightning Blue.

  • Technology: The Mustang GTD includes the latest Sync 4 infotainment system powered by Unreal Gaming technology, with Mustang GTD-specific graphics on the 13.2-inch touchscreen and 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster. It offers six drive modes with unique displays and a Performance gauge cluster that highlights essential information such as gear indicator and tachometer.

Application Process: Prospective customers in the European Union can apply to purchase the Mustang GTD starting at 1 P.M. CET on June 13 via TheMustangGTD.com.

Statements from Ford Executives:

  • Greg Goodall, Mustang GTD Chief Engineer: “Many sports cars excel at one thing. But for a car to set a quick lap at the Nürburgring, it needs to be great at everything. From the lightweight carbon fiber body to active aerodynamics, we’ve learned from motorsport how to make the Mustang GTD excel everywhere.”
  • Anthony Colard, Design Manager:Mustang GTD does far more than elevate the Mustang’s performance envelope. It brings a new more focused, premium feel to the cabin.”

The Mustang GTD Carbon Series, with its cutting-edge technology, advanced aerodynamics, and luxurious interior, sets a new benchmark for performance and sophistication, making a bold statement in the automotive world.
