“The Acura Performance EV Concept kicks off the exciting next step in our electrification strategy, showcasing the styling direction of our next all-new, all-electric Acura model that will debut next year,” said Mike Langel, assistant vice president, Acura National Sales.

The concept’s design is bold, featuring a vented hood, aggressive front fascia, and a coupe-like silhouette finished in “Moonlit White Pearl” with a semi-matte finish. The rear design, with its upswept decklid and full-width taillight, draws inspiration from the second-generation NSX. The striking details are complemented by 23-inch wheels and neon green brake calipers, which echo Acura’s Electric Vision Design Study.

Dave Marek, Acura Design Executive, highlighted the concept’s design freedom: “The Acura Performance EV Concept is the archetype of Acura Performance in the electrified era, taking full advantage of the extreme design freedom of stance and proportion offered by our next-generation EV platform to push the boundaries of Acura design even further.”

As Acura gears up for the production of this next-generation EV, the Honda EV Hub in Ohio is making strides toward becoming a key facility in North America’s electric vehicle landscape. The Marysville Auto Plant, along with other facilities, is undergoing significant retooling to begin EV production by late 2025, supported by a $700 million investment from Honda. Additionally, the nearby L-H Battery Company, a joint venture with LG Energy Solution, is on track to be completed by the end of 2024, with an annual capacity of approximately 40 GWh.

This unveiling at Monterey Car Week marks Acura’s fifth concept presentation at the event over the past decade, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to electrifying its lineup while maintaining its commitment to high-performance vehicles.
