This week marks the fifth edition of the BMW Ladies Championship, the only LPGA Tour event held in South Korea. With a prize fund of $2.2 million and a compact field of 78 elite golfers, the tournament is set to be a highlight of the season.
Hosted at the picturesque Seowon Valley Country Club, just outside Seoul, the event guarantees top-tier competition, as there is no cut, ensuring all players compete across all four days.

Defending champion Minjee Lee of Australia will return to the same venue where she triumphed last year in a dramatic playoff against Alison Lee. Joining her are 68 world-class golfers, eight high-profile invites, and two promising Korean amateurs.
Among the stars are Olympic medalists Lydia Ko of New Zealand, who added to her Olympic medal collection in Paris, and Germany’s Esther Henseleit, who made history by securing silver.
Almost the entire top ten of the women’s world golf rankings will be present, including major champions like Yuka Saso, Amy Yang, and Ayaka Furue. The only notable absentees are Nelly Korda, sidelined due to injury, and Jin Young Ko, the 2021 BMW Ladies Champion.
Fans can also look forward to appearances by four additional major champions, including Danielle Kang and South Korean veterans Jeongeun Lee, Eun-Hee Ji, and Jiyai Shin, Korea’s most decorated golfer with 64 career titles.
The tournament, first held in 2019, continues to elevate its profile, with this year’s competition taking place on the Seowon Hills Course, a challenging 6,666-yard par-72 layout. South Korean golf fans can expect an unforgettable experience as they witness the world’s top golfers compete for the prestigious title.
