The LX 700h’s parallel hybrid system places the electric motor between the V6 engine and the transmission. This setup allows the vehicle to optimize power delivery based on conditions, with the ability to drive off-road in electric-only mode.

Additionally, the hybrid system is equipped with an alternator and starter motor, enabling continued driving in the event of hybrid system failure by relying on the internal combustion engine.

Designed for challenging terrains, the LX 700h has a waterproof battery housing and can wade through water up to 700 mm deep, just like its non-hybrid counterparts. Built on the TNGA body-on-frame platform, the SUV retains a robust structure while accommodating the hybrid system’s additional weight.

The battery location has been modified to ensure off-road resilience, and the car can also serve as a power source with outputs ranging from 1,500W to 2,400W, depending on the market.
