BMW has revealed the limited-edition Skytop, a new small-series roadster, designed to captivate automotive enthusiasts and collectors. Following the success of the BMW 3.0 CSL in 2022, the Skytop will see a production run of just 50 units.

Initially introduced as the BMW Concept Skytop at the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the roadster’s striking design and dynamic performance immediately garnered attention, prompting BMW to bring it to production.

Announced at an event in Milan by Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group Design, the Skytop has already found its 50 future owners. “The Skytop is a blend of driving dynamics and elegance at the highest level,” van Hooydonk noted, calling the production of the vehicle a dream come true.

The Skytop pays homage to BMW’s legendary roadsters like the BMW 507 and Z8, with a powerful V8 engine at its core. The 4.4-litre unit delivers 625 hp, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, allowing the Skytop to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.

The design of the Skytop is marked by a sleek and muscular body, enhanced with custom details such as winglets replacing conventional door handles, intricately designed light-alloy wheels, and slim LED headlights.

The roadster’s wraparound paint finish, called Floating Sundown Silver, features an elegant gradient applied by hand. Inside, precision craftsmanship and luxury materials, including leather seats with brogue accents, create a refined atmosphere, complemented by a high-end Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System and BMW’s Live Cockpit Professional.

With the Skytop, BMW continues its tradition of combining innovative design with powerful performance, making this limited-edition roadster a coveted piece of automotive art.
