Volkswagen unveils the new Tayron, a versatile SUV with up to seven seats, hybrid options, and premium features, ideal for families and adventurers. Pre-sales start October 10.

Volkswagen has introduced the new Tayron, its second-largest SUV in Europe after the Touareg, designed to fill the gap between the Tiguan and the luxury Touareg.

This versatile SUV offers a spacious interior, seating for five or optionally seven, and a towing capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes, making it ideal for families and adventurers.

Key features include a range of drive systems, with seven powertrain options including two plug-in hybrids that offer over 100 km of electric range and a total journey range of up to 850 km.

The entry-level version, Tayron Life, is powered by a 110 kW mild hybrid drive and priced from €45,475. Higher-end models include eHybrid versions with 150 kW and 200 kW outputs, along with a powerful 142 kW turbo diesel (TDI) with 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

Inside, the Tayron boasts a premium feel with illuminated Volkswagen logos, LED lights, and elegant materials. Standard features include nine airbags, a 10-color ambient lighting system, a 32-centimeter infotainment screen, and an array of driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control and park assist.

Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer praised the Tayron for its quality and versatility, positioning it as a key player in the growing SUV segment. Pre-sales for the Tayron open on October 10, with its public debut at the Mondial de l’Auto in Paris from October 14 to 20.
